Shaleen Malhotra dons a cop's role again in Sony TV's Encounter; Hanif Hilal roped in
The dashing Shaleen Malhotra is even today remembered as ‘Arjun’, the popular cop of the Star Plus show. Fans of Shaleen who have been missing the man’s flamboyant action as the cop can now rejoice as they will get to see him playing a cop yet again.
Wow, how nice is this?
Yes, Shaleen will now be seen essaying the role of the famous encounter specialist of the 90’s, Daya Nayak in the upcoming episode of Sony TV’s Encounter, produced by Endemol India. His character in the episode will be named Achal Kutty. Giving him company as the dreaded ganster will be noted dancer cum choreographer cum actor, Hanif Hilal. Hanif will essay the role of Sheikh Dabbawala.
When contacted, Shaleen told us, “Yes, it is true that I play a cop in one of the episodics of Encounter. I have taken up this role only for the fans of Arjun. They have been longing to see me back at least once as a cop. I do not know whether we will get to see a Season 2 of Arjun. And this role is only for these fans, and I am happy that I got an opportunity to please them.”
Hanif on his part said, “Well, I have nothing to say at the moment. Yes, talks are on, but I seriously cannot comment on anything.”
Hanif and Shaleen have started shooting for Encounter from yesterday (15 June).
"I deserve getting a lead role" - Aarti Singh
Aarti Singh who is seen in Uttaran will be seen playing a cameo in Sony TV's Encounter as Dawood's girlfriend.
TV actress Aarti Singh who is well known for her role in Colors' show Parichay Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka is experimenting with her acting skills as she will be seen in a cameo role. Yes, the actress is all set to play a powerful role in Sony TV's gangster based series Encounter.
Aarti is now seen as Kajri in Uttaran and tells us about her role in the show, "Yes I will be playing a powerful character and I will be seen as don's girlfriend that is Dawood's girlfriend."
The good looking actress excitedly avers about the experience of shooting for the episodic, "I enjoyed shooting for the episodic. The team was very supportive. I have been playing that typical Bahu's role for a long time but this time it is very unique so I was happy with the change."
We have seen this actress playing typecast roles. So when asked Aarti about when will the audience see her in a lead role she says, "Even I am waiting for that day as I know that I deserve getting a lead role. I look beautiful than before as I have lost weight. I am just waiting for an opportunity and when I get it I will grab it without giving it a second thought."
When asked Aarti whether is she ready to take up any reality show she says, "Yes I want to take up a reality show as I love being part of it. When I will be approached for the reality show, there will be 'Yes' from my side."
Sony TV's Encounter to tell the tale of the making of Chori Chori Chupke Chupke and its underworld..
Yesterday, we reported about Manish Wadhwa and Bhanu Uday being roped in to play important roles in Sony Entertainment Television’s Encounter (Endemol).
The episode will deal with the dreaded gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his relationship with the ultra sexy actress Mandakini. As already reported, the character of the leads will be played by talented Ganesh Yadav and Aarti Singh.
Now here we have some another interesting tidbit from the show. The episode will also touch upon the subject of the making of the movie Chori Chori Chupke Chupke that was much in news before its release for the involvement of Dawood in the finance of the film that was produced by Bharat Shah. The producer was said to have been involved with the underworld.
And playing the roles of Rani Mukerji, Salman Khan and Preity Zinta (from the film) in Encounter will be Deeksha Sonalkar, Rahul Pandey and Kamya Pandey respectively.
Deekhsa, who is also currently a part of Bani on Colors, said, “I am playing the character of Rani and although ours will be a small part in the episode, I am equally glad to be a part of this interesting episode. It was real fun shooting with the Encounter team.”
Rookie actors Rahul and Kamya remained unavailable to comment.

Manish Wadhwa and Bhanu Uday join Aarti and Ganesh in Sony TV's Encounter
We have already reported about Sony Entertainment Television’s Encounter (Endemol India) portraying the story of Dawood Ibrahim and his underworld Bollywood connect. As we have reported, Aarti Singh will play Mandakini, and Ganesh Yadav will essay the gangster Dawood Ibrahim.
We now hear that actor Manish Wadhwa, presently seen in Star Plus’ Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon will play an important role, in this story. He will essay the right hand of Dawood, named Hegde who will manage the underworld nexus in Mumbai.
Noted actor Bhanu Uday will play the cop Praveen Wagle, who brought down the underworld Bollywood nexus.
When contacted, Manish told us, “I had been approached for Encounter many times before, but for some reasons things could not be worked out. This time, all fell in place. I play the role of Hegde working under the main gangster. The man will not be typically dressed as a gangster. Instead, he will be well-dressed, will have a sophisticated look and will roam around in cars.”
Bhanu who is having a good year with two of his movies releasing in 2014 said, “My movie Machli Jal Ki Rani Hai releases on 13 June. Frankly speaking, I took this role in order to keep myself busy, without thinking much about my movie that is to release (smiles). Having said this, it is a very good role. Praveen Wagle happens to be the cop who fought the underworld Bollywood activities. I am having a good year so far; my other movie Blemished Light will also release this year.”
The shoot for this particular story in Encounter is presently on.

Aarti Singh to play the ‘sex bomb’ Mandakini; Ganesh Yadav to play Dawood in Sony TV’s Encounter
After Mahhi Vij played the first lady underworld don Aashna in Sony Entertainment Television’s Encounter, talented actress Aarti Singh will now play the Bollywood sex bomb Mandakini. The episode will dwell on Mandakini’s underworld connect with the dreaded gangster Dawood Ibrahim.
For Aarti, who has been part of saas-bahu sagas like Grihasti, Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hain, Parichay and recently seen in Uttaran, this role will be a challenging one.
When contacted, Aarti confirmed the news saying, “Yes, I will play Mandakini in Endemol India’s upcoming episode of Encounter. It is a challenge for me to portray this beautiful and difficult character. Let’s see how I go about it. When I got this role, I immediately called concerned people of my ongoing show Uttaran to adjust my dates. I simply did not want to lose this opportunity of playing the role of Mandakini.”
Actor Ganesh Yadav, who has been part of path-breaking movies Company, Vaastav has been roped in to play the role of Dawood Ibrahim.
The shoot for this particular story will go on floor in a couple of days time.

"The film is something different and I am all set for the change." - Ruslaan Mumtaz
Popular actor Ruslaan Mumtaz is all set to shoot for the film after a gap. The actor will play the lead in the romantic comedy film Romeo Idiot Jatni Juliet.
Good looking Ruslaan Mumtaaz who was seen in Sony TV's show Kehta Hai Dil... Jee Le Zara rose to fame with movies and then started his career in TV. While TV still interests him, the actor is all set to get back to his base which is films.
Ruslaan has a bagged a rom-com film and is busy shooting for the same. After his last stint in Sony TV's Encounter, he is all set to enjoy shooting for the film.
Telling us more about the story Ruslaan says, "This movie is a romantic comedy movie 'Romeo Idiot Jatni Juliet'. The story revolves a guy who stays in Mumbai. He is a loser, wannabe and over smart person. He tries his luck every where but fails every time. So he shifts to Haryana where he falls in love with a Haryanvi girl in this way the story proceeds further. It's a youth centric movie, I am playing the lead in this movie."
Furthermore Ruslaan says that the female lead is a new comer and he is excited for the movie, "Female lead of this movie is a new girl. My mother's role will be played by Neelu Kohli and father by Vijayendra Ghatge. I am excited for this movie and expecting a good response from the audience."
He further adds, "It is something different I am doing. I am all set for the change. I got this offer from Satish kaushik when I was doing Tere Sang. He saw my work and I was offered for this. They have started shooting for this movie."
When asked to choose between movies and TV shows, the actor says, "You get a different experience in TV, you can daily reach out to your fans at their home so I still prefer TV instead of movies."
Lastly we asked him about your future plans he says, "I have eight plans in the pipeline, let's see how and when it works out."

Rohit Purohit and Mita Vashisht roped in Sony TV's Encounter!
Sony TV's Encounter will depict a tale of a gangster Girish Sinha who comes to Mumbai to become on the top most gangsters of Mumbai.
Sony TV's popular crime based show Encounter has been enthralling its viewers with its unique concepts and portrayal of roles by various artist in each episodes. The show traces the encounters that have occurred in different places of India and those which are highlighted by the media for months.
Our sources say, "In the upcoming episodes of Encounter, the story will revolve around a Gangster family who march their way from to Bihar to Mumbai with the hopes of becoming the top gangster of Mumbai. The Gang is headed by Girish Sinha, his mother and sister too is involved in the Gang."
The source further adds, "They are the 1st Gangster family in Mumbai, Girish is a very rude man in the family who appreciates all the wrong thing of robbing and killing. Later on Girish handover the work to his mother and sister and goes underground because of increasing police raids. Also he is posters of him seen all over roadside walls. Finally Girish Sinha (Rohit Purohit) is encountered by Inspector Anil Barve (Piyush because of his Inhale key chain which falls from him on the bus stop."
"Many known faces will be seen in this episode namely Rohit Purohit who is known for playing the bad boy in Aisa Karo Naa Vida character. Then Mita Vashisht who will be seen playing a role of Girish's mother. She was seen as the principal on the hit show Suvreen Guggal of Channel V and the hero of the episode who is inspector Anil Barve who is Piyush Sahdev known for playing the character of Kabir in Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke," ends our source.
We contacted one of the actors Rohit Purohit to know about his experience with the show and he says, "I enjoyed working with Encounter team. It was a great experience and specially I loved the cinematography. It was great pleasure to work with Maqbool Khan."

Vinay Jain, Maninee Mishra and Siraj Mustafa in Sony TV's Encounter
The exciting crime based show Encounter (Endemol) on Sony Entertainment Television has been churning out some exciting episodes every week. It’s all about the power tussle between the gangsters and the cops.
After roping in the beautiful Barkha Bisht, the makers have signed the talented Maninee Mishra, Vinay Jain and Siraj Mustafa for one of their upcoming episodes.
After Diya Aur Baati Hum, Maninee will once again be seen as a cop and giving her company will be her Jassi co-star the lanky Vinay. And the man standing against them, as a criminal will be Siraj.
When we buzzed Maninee she laughed, “I guess my body language has become so much like a tough police that I have forgotten how to play a feminine role. But it’s a superb experience overall.”
Vinay who was shooting for the episode said, “I am playing an ACP and the main encounter specialist. It’s super fun shooting for this exciting episode.”
And finally Siraj added, “It would be a great episode and I am really excited to play a gangster. The look and feel given to the character is going to take everyone for a surprise.”

Mahhi Vij to be seen in Sony TV's Encounter!
Mahhi Vij to take up a gangster's avatar in Sony TV's Encounter.
The talented actress and better half of Jay Bhanushali, Mahhi Vij is yet again backing on the small screen. Mahi who will be playing the role of a gangster is all geared up and excited to take up this role.
Mahhi Vij who was last seen in an episode of Colors TV's Comedy Nights with Kapil is all set to don the look of a gangster for Sony TV's Encounter. When spoken to Mahi regarding her character in Encounter, this is what she had to say, "I am playing a role of a gangster who comes down to Mumbai from another city. She is the main protagonist of the show and the story revolves around her. The main reason why I picked up this role is it has a variation in role. It shows a good girl turning bad."
Mahi has already started shooting for this episode.

Maninee De Mishra dons the cop's hat again!
Maninee De Mishra who was last seen as a cop in Diya Aur Baati Hum is all set to don the same avatar.
Maninee De Mishra was seen as a cop Agrima Singh in Star Plus show, Diya Aur Baati Hum. Well the actress is coming back in the same role but in Sony TV's new series of Encounter.
"Yes I'll be playing a cop in Sony TV's Encounter but I'm not allowed to divulge any information about the story. All I can tell you is that it's gonna be a good story and you'll see me in different avatar," says Maninee.
She further adds, "IPS officer Agrima Singh was seen very differently as the story demanded that. So in Encounter also I'll try my best to give this new cop, a very different avatar. The shoot for the same is starting by tomorrow. Thus will have to check with the production house whether I can reveal the story or not."
Well we have also heard that the versatile actress Maninee might return to the show Diya Aur Baati? When asked Maninee she says, "Well you are the third person to ask me this. Till now I haven't got any calls from the production house to return back though but if I get an offer, I wouldn't mind. Actually my friends and few fans had been asking me to return in the show. During that training period, the show achieved very high number of TRPs."
Maninee says that she gets requests from the people to act in her husband's show too, "They even tell me to do a cameo in my hubby's Mihir Mishra show (Ek Hasina Thi) as to boost the TRPs. I reply them telling that the show is already doing good with the entry of my husband. I always pray for him the most and I'm sure his show will hold the strong position in the coming days too."
Are there any chances to see both Mihir and Maninee acting together in a show? "Well right now there isn't anything but I would love to work with him again. As an actor we share a great bonding too and I'm very comfortable working with him. So pray for us."

Barkha Bisht Sengupta roped in Sony TV's show Encounter!
Bengali beauty Barkha Bisht Sengupta will soon be seen in a crime based show Encounter in which she will play a gangster.
Sony TV's popular crime based show Encounter is gaining immense popularity for its concept and the storyline. In every new episode, the viewers get to see new actors from the industry who showcase their acting skills to them and are seen playing the role of a gangster.
In the upcoming episode it will be treat for the viewers to watch the talented actress Barkha Bisht Sengupta who will be seen acting in Encounter post Parvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi on Sony TV which ended last year.
Our sources, "The story this week will be based on a female gangster played by Barkha Bisht Sengupta and how the cops encounter this deadly gangster. Other actors who are all set to be a part of the story are Behzaad Khan who will accompany Barkha, Himmanshoo Ashok Malhotra and Parakh Madan will play the role of cops in the show."
We got in touch with Barkh to know more about her character for which she said, "Yes I am doing this show Encounter but I am not allowed to talk about my role in the show."

Barkha Bisht, Himmanshoo Malhotra, Behzad Khan and Parakh Madan in Sony TV’s Encounter
The thrilling crime based show Encounter (Endemol) on Sony Entertainment Television has been impressing viewers with some really interesting tales of gangsters and their journey that end in a tragic encounter at the hands of the cops.
And here we bring you the names of some popular actors who will be seen in one of the episodes in the show.
The episode will revolve around a female gangster and playing the powerful role will be the fiery Barkha Bisht. Giving her company will be a close aide played by the talented Behzad Khan.
To gun them down, the cop’s character will be played by Himmanshoo Malhotra. Also the pretty Parakh Madan will be seen in a positive avatar as Himmanshoo’s love partner.
When we buzzed Barkha she quipped, “I cannot say anything about it.” But before she went off line, she confirmed that she was a part of the episode.
Parakh on the other hand said, “I am in talks with the production for a very interesting character, hopefully things work out on the same.”
“I have been approached for the episode but I cannot talk anything about it,” averred Behzad.
Himmanshoo confirmed his presence and added, “I am currently shooting so I can give the details post my shoot.”
