Star Plus’ interesting concept pertaining to the unexplored relationship between cousins titled Nisha Aur Uske Cousins will soon be on air. This unique concept from Bodhi Tree Productions will replace Mahabharat and will take the 8.30 pmslot on Star Plus from 11 August.

We have been exclusively feeding our readers with information regarding the cast on the show. Joining the cast now will be veteran actress Anjuman Saxena and Soniya Shah. Anjuman is presently seen in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon-Ek Baar Phir as Geetanjali Tikkekar’s mother. Soniya has played the prominent role of Menka, Guman’s sister in Saraswatichandra.

We have earlier reported that Pubali Sanyal will play wife to Vivek Mushran, and mother to the lead girl Nisha (Aneri Wajani). Another interesting aspect will be that Anjuman and Soniya who happen to be the two bahus of the house will be shown as on-screen sisters on the show.

Also, new face to television, Purvi Mundada will play one of the parallel leads on the show. She will be one of Nisha’s cousin sisters. The girl will be the daughter of the eldest son and daughter-in-law in the family, essayed by Jayant Rawal and Anjuman.

When contacted, Anjuman confirmed the news and said, “Yes, I am part of the show Nisha Aur Uske Cousins.”

Soniya Shah also confirmed her presence in the show.

Purvi has been a model and has done quite a lot of commercial ads. However, this will be her first stint on TV. The girl on her part said, “Yes, I play a very important role in the show, and will be seen as a parallel lead. We are not supposed to talk at length about our characters and the show as of now. All I can say is that this is a big show, which has a unique concept.”

Nisha Aur Uske Cousins to replace Star plus' Mahabharat

The dramatic magnum opus show Mahabharat (Swastik Productions) on Star Plus is all set to bid farewell. Yes, the show that started off last year will air its final episode on 10 August.

Mahabharat, the ambitious project of producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary, started off with comparisons being made with BR Chopra’s yesteryear Mahabharat. But with the perfect cast and some superb performances, the actors managed to shrug off all burden and stood up high with the show gaining a huge popularity.

Added to that the creative team has been lauded time and again for churning out a beautifully written script for a concept that has been known for years.

The show also managed to make hero out of actors like Saurabh Raaj Jain (Krishna), Shaheer Sheikh (Arjun), Arpit Ranka (Duryodhan), Arav Chowdharry (Bhism Pitamah), Paras Arora (Abhimanyu), Pooja Sharma (Draupadi) among a lot many more.

The epic which is currently airing the last league of the historical Kurukshatera war will air its final episode on 10 August (Sunday) with a final hour long maha episode.

Shares a source, “The production and channel decided on giving the viewers a special last treat and thus this maha episode. It will be the culmination episode and quite a grand one. The cast will be shooting its last episode tentatively on 5 August.”

“We have also planned a wrap up party on the day where the whole team will watch the last episode and then party hard to celebrate our hard work and success,” informs an actor from the show.

We called and even sent a text message to Producer Siddharth, but he did not revert.

Now if there is an end, there is always a beginning. Well, as earlier informed by us, Sukesh Motwani’s Nisha Aur Uske Cousins will take Mahabharat’s 8 .30pm slot from 11 August.

Sukesh too did not respond to our calls and messages.

Jayant Rawal and Jagat Rawat join the cast of Star Plus' Nisha Aur Uske Cousins

Star Plus’ unique and interesting show Nisha Aur Uske Cousins will explore a completely new relationship on television. The show produced by Sukesh Motwani’s Bodhi Tree Productions has already roped in some experienced actors to play their part.

Now joining the team will be seasoned actors Jayant Rawal and Jagat Rawat. Rawal is presently seen essaying the female protagonist’s father in Zee TV’s Doli Armaanon Ki. Jagat Rawat, has been part of shows like Ganga Ki Dheej, Seven, Powder, Gutur Gu 2.

They will be part of the middle generation in the Rajasthani joint family. As already reported, V M Badola and Veena Mehta will play the oldest generation couple on the show. Jayant Rawal, Jagat Rawat and Vivek Mushran will be their three sons.

A source states, “Jayant Rawal being the eldest son of the old man will try to imbibe and copy his father. He would have a belief that he should dictate terms in the family being the eldest of the sons. However, when that does not happen, he will get irritable. Jagat Rawat will play the middle son, who will handle the finances in the family.”

Nisha Aur Uske Cousins will deal with the generation gap within a family, and the different manner in which each generation would look into a particular issue or situation.

When contacted, Rawal confirmed the news to us that he is part of the show. However, he refused to divulge more information.

Jagat Rawat who has a fifteen years experience in theatre and has done movies like Hijack, No One Killed Jessica, Commando also confirmed his presence in the show.

This new venture on Star Plus is expected to take the slot to be made vacant by Mahabharat. The launch of Nisha Aur Uske Cousins is expected to happen in mid August.
