I don't think anyone would have the 'pagalpan' of Rajeev in real life - Sumit Verma
The good looking and talented Sumit Verma, who is making his way towards stardom with his brilliant performance as Rajeev in Colors’ Shastri Sisters (Shakuntalam Productions), is one happy guy today.
And why not, for he is getting to play variant shades in the show which is giving him ample scope to perform. “I am enjoying my phase completely in the show. Not many newcomers get to play such an interesting character. From being a lover boy, Rajeev today has become completely negative who wants to get back his love at any cost. He is somewhat similar to Shah Rukh Khan’s character in Darr.”
So how is he coping with the requirements in the challenging character? “To be honest, the directors are the saviours. They have been guiding me to the fullest. Also the other senior actors have been a constant support to not just me but also the entire young team. It’s a very friendly atmosphere on the sets, it almost feels like home.”
When asked whether he has the same passion like Rajeev in him, Sumit quickly said, “Never, leave alone me I think no one in real life would also have so much love for someone. I mean to leave your family and home trying to get your love would be too much. Also when you know that she is married. That is complete pagalpan.”
Along with the fans, his mother too seems to have got the hang of the character, as the actor shared, “My mom keeps on telling me not to harass Alka (Neha Pednekar) and leave her in peace. She doesn’t understand that it’s not her son but the character that is creating havoc. It’s fun to receive such response as that means the character is working on people’s mind. This surely is a high for any actor.”
True that Sumit!

Neha Pednekar 'misses' shooting with her sisters in Colors' Shastri Sisters
Neha Pednekar who essays the rather docile and timid Alka in Colors’ Shastri Sisters (Shakuntalam Telefilms) is a complete opposite to her on-screen character in real life.
Talking about it, Neha told Tellychakkar.com, “I can never be like Alka, who has a safe approach to life. If I do not like anything, I will go left, right and centre in expressing my views unlike Alka who is very family-bound. Also, my idea of romance is completely different from that of Alka’s.”
Romance!! Aah.. So how would Neha perceive her romantic day?
“A romantic day for me is to go on a long drive, with romantic numbers playing around. Unlike Alka, who is very filmy in romance, I believe in having a realistic feel to my romance. For me, anyone cannot become my life partner. I will prefer to take my time, understand the person, connect with him well, and know his likes and dislikes before giving in to spending my lifetime with him,” explained the actress.
Neha who is now married in the show, misses shooting with her sisters the most. “Well, I think of them every day. I miss the fun time we used to have on set. In fact, when we were shooting for Alka’s bidaai sequence, we all cried for real as we could not control the feeling that nothing would remain the same now. With Alka getting married, I will have to shift to my sasuraal, and that would only mean that I will be shooting less with my sisters. We cried as though we will not be seeing each other again (smiles).”
When asked about the fun time they have enjoyed together, the girl went on to say, “Aah, we used to do lots of things. We used to dance playing on music in our make-up rooms, whenever we were free. We used to chat for long sessions and enjoy each other’s company. We used to have a great time during lunch hours when we used to share our food. I miss everything now.”
About her best pal among her sisters, Neha pointed out, “Ishita Ganguly who essays the role of Anushka is very close to me.”
Neha who is now paired with Sujay Reu in the show feels that he is very down-to-earth. “Sujay is a pleasure to work with. He is very humble and helps me out a lot. It is always nice to work with like-minded people, as it brings out the best in you as an actor.”
On playing Alka in Shastri Sisters, the girl said, “It is a fabulous role. I could not have got a better role to begin with to showcase my acting skills. Every day is a learning curve and I am enjoying my stint so far.”
Neha, we wish you all the luck!!

Rajeev returns to Alka's life in Colors' Shastri Sisters
Colors’ Shastri Sisters (Shakuntalam Telefilms) will see the return of Rajeev (Sumit Verma) into the life of Alka (Neha Padnekar). Just when viewers were hoping to see a cute love story blossoming between the newly-weds Alka and Rohan (Sujay Reu), the entry of Rajeev will spoil things for Alka.
In tonight’s episode, Rajeev will enter Alka’s house in the disguise of an electrician. Alka who will open the door for him will be shocked to see Rajeev. The man will threaten her, making his intentions clear. He will pledge to get her back in his life, creating more complications in Alka’s mind.
Will Rajeev be able to trouble Alka post her marriage? Only time will tell.
On the other hand, Devyani (Sonal Vengurlekar) will win the race in tonight’s episode, and will prove before Rajat (Vijayendra Kumeria) that she is a hard-worker and can achieve anything if she sets a goal. Rajat will also get impressed by Devyani’s win.
We tried calling Neha Pednekar, but could not get through to her.
