Gutthi is a rockstar: Mandira Bedi
Mandira Bedi, who had the popular character Gutthi from "Comedy Nights With Kapil", played by Sunil Grover, walk the ramp to showcase her latest sari collection on the ramp, says the loud cheers were testimony to the popularity of the character.
“I wanted a lovable character who appeals to people across the board. Gutthi is absolutely adorable. And she does cut across a cross-section of admirers," Mandira said.
Her show was held as part of a fashion event Oct 5.
“It was about masti (fun). By inviting Gutthi to walk the ramp, I wanted to take the fun aspect of the pageant to a new level. And my collection, with all its happy colours, was called ‘Joie de vivre’. Who better to end my show than someone who has given so many people joy and laughter,” asked the actress-anchor-designer.
Mandira says Gutthi brought the house down.
“I’ve never heard such loud cheers at any fashion show. Gutthi got more applause than the biggest of supermodels. Every pose, every move that she made; every step she took, triggered off massive applause. It was unbelievable! I was taken aback by the response. People simply loved her. It was amazing," she said.
According to Mandira, it wasn’t only the cross-dressing that appealed to the ramp watchers.
“It wasn’t about a man dressed as a man as much as it was about an extremely popular and loved character that was draped in a beautiful sari,” she added.

Comedy Nights with Kapil team on a selfie spree in Dubai!
The cast of Colors’ popular comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil had a gala time shooting in Dubai.
Colors' much loved comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil, recently shot their special episode in Dubai with its entire cast and crew. While the team was mobbed by their fans out there in Dubai, they didn't miss a single chance to enjoy and treasure some off-screen moments.
While the selfie mania is creating a rage amongst everyone, the stars of Comedy Nights with Kapil were also not less. We heard that, "Apart from their hectic shooting schedules in Dubai, Palak (Kiku Sharda) didn't miss a chance to capture her memories of Dubai in her camera. She was on a selfie spree throughout her journey of Dubai. She went on clicking selfies with camels and the buildings in the city. Later Gutthi (Sunil Grover) too joined Palak and clicked a selfie while performing on the stage."
The anchor of the show Kapil Sharma too didn't miss having fun along with his co-stars in Dubai. The cast and crew had a good time shooting on a yacht for their episode and Kapil and Sumona Chakravarti shared the very famous titanic moment while shooting on the yacht.
The 'work cum fun' moments in Dubai would be cherished by the team forever for sure!

Hariharan and Rekha Bhardwaj in Comedy Nights with Kapil!
Colors’ popular show Comedy Nights with Kapil will witness great playback singers Hariharan and Rekha Bhardwaj in the upcoming episodes.
Colors' popular show and much loved show Comedy Night with Kapil which is riding high with its popularity and success till now has been loved by many celebrities a lot. Well this time the celebrities who will be making their appearance on the show will be noted singers Hariharan and Rekha Bharadwaj.

Comedy Nights.... to test the skills of the contestants on their laughter stage!
Colors' Comedy Nights with Kapil will see a unique blend of performances and laughter on one stage.
Colors' Comedy Nights with Kapil has set a benchmark with the kind of concept it has brought in. A comedy show like this has never been launched in India before Comedy Nights.
Comedy Nights as per its concept has brought in several television and Bollywood celebrities on the show and has given an opportunity to the audience to interact with their favorite celebs.
This one of its kind comedy show took a step further as they went on to give a live performance in Dubai in front of 4000 people.
Our source informs, "The team of Comedy Nights with Kapil is trying something new this time. The winners of Entertainment ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega on Sony TV and India's Got Talent on Colors will come on the show and give some performances. This is the first time that they have come up with this new concept. They will shoot for the same on coming Friday and will come on air anytime sooner."
Well, now the blend of performances with the comedy sounds really interesting. This will keep the viewers glued to their couches, haina?

Ali Asgar and Kiku Sharda go down the memory lane!
Ali Asgar and Kiku Sharda go down the memory lane as they share with us about their experience in Dubai for Colors' Comedy Nights with Kapil.
As we have earlier reported that the stars of Colors’ popular show Comedy Nights with Kapil flew to Dubai for their live show. We asked actor from Comedy Nights... to share their experience about shooting in Dubai and more...
The popular faces of the show Dadi and Palak/Lachcha spoke to us about their trip to Dubai.
Ali Asgar who is loved as Dadi says, "It was superb. It felt like you are at home. Right from the airport to hotel and when we reached at the venue, the fans mobbed us and we were pleased to see their gesture. Though Dubai is very much similar to India in terms of style, eateries etc. however, the only difference between Dubai and India is the importance of life."
"We received an overwhelming response. There were around 4000 people who attended our show. We performed a live show which was a house full and the response we received in the auditorium was something that can't be expressed. We even shot on the roads where Arabs recognized us; they complimented for the acting and appreciated for our show. Even though they don't understand Hindi still they watch the show with their friends and enjoy it," says Ali.
Which all places has Ali roamed? He answers, "I have been to many places starting from Desert Safari, Burj Khalifa to Yacht and then to the Auditorium. It was all fun there and the only thing which did not go down well with me was the climate of Dubai. It was completely hot there as we went there during a peak season as its hot and humid there."
When quizzed Ali about the best thing he found in Dubai? He says, "I liked everything out there, we could easily walk on the road there and the best thing in Dubai is their restaurants. I am not at all a shopaholic but a big time food lover and I enjoyed having food there at Pakistani restaurants."
Another actor who enjoyed this trip was Kiku Sharda who essays the character of Palak and Lachcha in the show. Here is he sharing his experience -
How was Comedy Nights with Kapil in Dubai? “It was such an overwhelming experience. Living in Mumbai we do not realize how popular one can get because people in Mumbai are used to seeing actors in a movie theater or a mall or in a hotel or any other place. People here are very used to it. But when you go outside the country or probably outside the city, one realizes the kind of crazy following one has.
In Dubai we were actually shocked with the kind of response that we got. We had performed there in an auditorium which had the capacity of 4000 people. There were people waiting outside the auditorium as well who were waiting and wanting to see the show live. Maximum tickets were sold for 1000 Dirham which is almost equal to 17,000 rupees. It was a crazy experience,” says Kiku.

“In our hotels also we could barely stand in the lobby. There were a lot of people who wanted to click photos with us. Apart from the show, we also shoot on the roads and in the deserts of Dubai. Our stay was extremely heart-warming because people there actually made us realize about our popularity and how much they loved us. Kapil Sharma’s fans were crazy. He used to get attacked and mobbed by the people. He was hiding most of the time (laughs),” he further adds.
One incident that Kiku will cherish forever... “While we were eating at a restaurant, someone wanted to pay our bill. They were like ‘we are huge fans of yours and we want to pay the bill of the food that you are eating.’ We tried to explain them that we ourselves are not paying our bills. It is from the organizers but they were still very eager to pay our bill. That person was so generous; he did not have anything at the moment to give us so he wanted to pay the bill as a souvenir. Finally he agreed. It was a weird conversation that we had with him because he was so much in awe and star stuck at that moment.”
