She is very popular, beautiful and super talented. And she has been away from screen space for quite some time now.

Who are we talking about?

Well, none other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Aishwarya, has finally managed to shed all those extra kilos post pregnancy, and is back embracing the world of showbiz.

But this time around, she won’t weave magic on 70mm, but on television.

Yes, you heard it right.

Aishwarya will be seen as the replacement of Shilpa Shetty.

“Aishwarya did not want to get too busy with film works as she wanted to be with her kid, Aaradhya. Hence, she took up Shriman vs Shrimati as it would mean less stress and also a welcome dabble in the world of entertainment,” said a source.

So why did Shilpa back out? The answer is that she has a lot of prior commitments to fulfill which include taking care of her IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals and also working on her latest fitness DVD. In fact, we also hear that she is in talks with Karan Johar to act in Dostana 2. Hence, she opted out of the show and Ash was roped in.

We just hope that the green-eyed beauty manages to make it big with her TV debut just like her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan did with KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati).

We contacted Aishwarya’s Manager who said, “Yes, there is a surprise in store for all.”

The show will air from 6 April 2013.

"Who knows, the shaadi may happen in Shriman V/S Shrimati"

Says Ravi Dubey who had proposed to Shargun during the Valentine season on Nach Baliye Season 5.

During the launch of Nach Baliye's Shriman V/S Shrimati, popular actor Ravi Dubey was flummoxed for a second when asked as to how he and Sargun Mehta were eligible to participate in a show where the rest of the contestants were husband and wives who were competing against each other.

Were they already married? Regaining his composure in a second, Ravi who had proposed to long-time girlfriend Sargun live on Indian television was ready with an answer, "Well, I have proposed to her during Nach Baliye and we are engaged now so we are equally eligible."

So, is there a wedding in the offing soon? "You never know... we may just get married on the show Shriman V/S Shrimati" was his witty reply.

We tried to contact Sargun on her reaction to this but she was unavailable, but we are sure that this time Sargun sure won't be as surprised.

Debina Bonnerjee 'eagerly looks forward' to participating in Shriman V/s Shrimati

Debina Bonnerjee is excited to take part in Star Plus’ extended version of Nach Baliye, Shriman V/s Shrimati along with her husband Gurmeet Choudhary.

“I love to dance, and we (she and Gurmeet) simply like to take part in reality shows either together or individually (they have done Pati Patni Aur Who as a Jodi, while she has done Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, Star Ya Rock Star and Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan Nawaazi Ki individually). We took up this Boys V/s Girls face-off as it is a short journey (3 weeks) show. Had Shriman V/s Shrimati been a longer affair, we would not have done it. Gurmeet has just won Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 and it would have been too much of stress on him.”

When asked about competing with her husband in the show, Debina stated, “We are not really taking it as a stiff fight. We are here to have fun. I hope to enjoy dancing with the girls’ team. We will be doing solo performances, performances in groups, and even as pairs and trios.”

Debina is satisfied with the selection of Tanaaz Irani as girl team’s captain. “She is the senior most in our group and is very good with her feet.”

When asked to speculate about the winner, she said, “My husband is in the opposite side and we girls are good dancers. All I would say is that ‘May the best team win’.”

On the judges of Shriman V/s Shrimati, the actress averred, “Shilpa Shetty and Terence Lewis are carry-forwards from Nach Baliye 5 and we have seen how good they were in the show. As for Farah Khan, I had met her on the sets of Entertainment Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega. She is a dancer par excellence and it would be an honour to perform in front of her.”

Lastly, talking about the replacement of Shilpa Shinde with Shubhangi Aatre Poorey in her SAB TV show, Chidiya Ghar, Debina explained, “I respect Shilpa’s decision to quit as she had her reasons. Shubhangi is quite talented and we have to accept that nobody is indispensable in this industry.”

Shriman V/s Shrimati, the concept similar to Zara Nachke Dikha, gears up for big action on Star Plus

Star Plus’ latest offering post the climax of Nach Baliye kick-starts on 6 April 2013 in the form of Shriman V/s Shrimati, produced by Frames Productions. The concept of it is similar to the Boys v/s Girls tiff that was earlier seen in the previous seasons of Zara Nachke Dikha.

Talking about the concept, judge Terence Lewis said, “Yes, Shriman and Zara Nachke Dikha are similar shows. However, the big difference though between Zara Nachke Dikha and Shriman v/s Shrimati is that the contestants in the former show were not related, but here, we have either married couples or guys and girls who are in a committed zone.”

Bakhtiyaar Irani, contestant in Shriman v/s Shrimati who was also a part of Zara Nachke Dikha said, “Competing on the dance floor with a total stranger is easy than doing the same with your wife. In Zara, you could say what you want to, but we have to come back home to our wives in Shriman V/s Shrimati. You also have either the boy’s parents or the girl’s parents watching the show. So at any given point of time, you’re a** is on fire as you simply cannot mess around with your baliye.”

Nach Baliye - Shriman v/s Shrimati to start from 6th April....

Hot on the heels of the success of Nach Baliye 5, just as the winning Jodi Jay-Mahhi were declared winners after a grueling contest, STAR Plus has announced a brand new show, as an extension to the Nach Baliye 5 journey. The new dance reality show, Nach Baliye Shriman vs Shrimati will launch on 6th April on STAR Plus.

In Shriman vs Shrimati, the jodis will not dance together – but instead will be competing against each other! The participating jodis of this special show include some of the popular jodis of Nach Baliye 5 like Karan Mehra-Nisha Rawal, Neelu Vaghela-Arvind, Shefali Jariwala-Parag Tyagi, Rahul Mahajan-Dimpy Ganguly Mahajan, Ravi Dubey-Sargun Mehta and the Nach Baliye 5 winning Jodi Jay Bhanushali-Mahhi Vij, along with new Jodis - Gurmeet Choudhary-Debina Bonerjee Choudhary and Tanaaz Currim Irani- Bakhtiyar Irani.

Karan Mehra talks about his forthcoming dance reality show Shriman v/s Shrimati on Star Plus, the difficulties on competing with his baliye, Nisha Rawal and the journey of Nach Baliye 5..

The talented Karan Mehra who is currently seen in Star Plus' daily soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai, essaying the popular character of Naitik will soon be seen in Nach Baliye 5 Shriman v/s Shrimati on Star Plus. After dancing with his baliye in Nach Baliye 5, the couple will be competing with each other in the new format.

Talking about his beautiful wife, he said , "Nisha dances very well. She was a good dancer but has become even better after being a part of Nach Baliye 5. We have been dancing together in Nach Baliye and now we are dancing separately and that too competing with each other which is going to be difficult. I don't know how it will go. But I will give my 100% to make my team win."

Further he added saying, "I have never used any strategy, I always go with the flow. This time with a new flavour in the show, it is going be more interesting and definitely we will not make it easy for the girls to win."

On his Nach Baliye 5 journey he said, "The journey was terrific, we enjoyed a lot. It will always stay as a good memory and I am looking forward to Shriman v/s Shrimati too."

After her successful stint as a judge on Nach Baliye Season 5, Shilpa has been roped in yet again to judge Nach Baliye Shriman V/S Shrimati along with choreogr apher Terence Lewis and Farah Khan.
At the launch of the show, Shilpa stunned everyone with her entry in a sheer style electric blue sequined dress which showed off all her curves. "Yes, I have lost 18 kilos that I had put on after my pregnancy" said the svelte actress looking every bit a yummy mummy.

Her son Viaan is just nine months old and Shilpa says she cannot stay away from him for too long, "I said ok to judge Nach Baliye Season 5 because I was required to shoot for them only for one day in a week. And the same stays even with Shriman V/S Shrimati where I will be shooting only for 3 days for the 3 week show."

The new dance reality show, Nach Baliye Shriman vs Shrimati which will launch on 6th April on STAR Plus will see the jodis not dancing together but instead competing against each other! We got in touch with her to know about her strategy this time since the show carries a different flavor of boys v/s girls.

Excited about Shriman v/s Shrimati, Shefali said "I never used any strategy in Nach Baliye 5, and I am going to be following the same this time too. Working hard and giving my best is my motto. With the amazing powerful girls team in support I am sure all of us will rock it and win the show."

She further added, "I think this show is going to be very entertaining and fun for the audience as well as for us. We are going to be taking competition in a healthy way. There will be fights in the show but surely fun ones because the concept in itself is amazing. I am very excited for it and looking forward to seeing how interesting it can get."

Sargun is a great dancer and we haven't explored the aspect of competing with each other so it is going to be a different experience as well as a lot of fun." On his plus point which can make him win, he said "Ironically both of our plus points are same that we can work for 27hours out of 24 hours in a day. This had proved wonders for us during Nach Baliye and made us stand as the 1st runner up. We are both on equal grounds when it comes to competition. So lets see how it all goes."

Karan Wahi to anchor Star Plus' Shriman V/s Shrimati

Aishwarya Sakhuja who wooed all hearts in Sony Entertainment Television’s Saas Bina Sasural is back to the small screen in a new avatar!! The talented actress will now be seen as an anchor!!

Yes, you heard it right!! Aishwarya along with Karan Wahi will be seen hosting Star Plus’ new offering Shriman V/s Shrimati which will test the nerves of couples as they are pitted against each other. Produced by Frames Productions, Shriman V/s Shrimati is scheduled to be a three weeks show which will start in the first week of April 2013.

We tried contacting both Karan Wahi and Aishwarya, but could not reach through to them..

As of now, we hear that Jay Bhanushali-Mahhi Vij, Parag Tyagi-Shefali Zariwala, Ravi Dubey-Sargun Mehta, Rahul Mahajan-Dimpy Mahajan, Karan Mehra-Nisha Rawal, Bakhtiyaar-Tanaaz Irani, Gurmeet Choudhary-Debina Bonerjee are part of the show.

We hear that the shoot for Shriman V/S Shrimati is scheduled to start on 3 April 2013.

As mentioned here earlier, the Nach Baliye – Season 5 spin off after the Grand Finale on Star Plus is named Sriman V/s Srimati. A dance competition again, it will have the couples fight it out on the dance floor against each other. Along with the host of Nach Baliye, Karan Wahi, it is pretty actress Aishwarya Sakhuja who will co-host the show.

This is Aishwarya's first attempt at hosting and we tried to get in touch with her but she was unavailable for comment.

Sriman V/s Shrimati is a six episodes, three week show over the weekend and will have celebrity couples like Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey, Dimpy and Rahul Mahajan, Tanaaz and Bhaktyaar Irani, Shefali Zariwala and Parag Tyagi, Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary and the winning jodi of Nach Baliye 5 - Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhansuhali.

The show is scheduled to go on air in the 1st week of April.

Star Plus' upcoming mini-series gets its name in Shriman vs Shrimati

Nach Baliye Season 5 (Frames) end with the finale episode aired on 23 March 2013.

However, this will not be the end of the interesting dance episodes.

As reported earlier, the channel and the production house will be coming up with a mini-series of dance between the baliyes. And this will be a battle between the jodis where the husbands will fight against their wives or the girlfriends pitted against their boyfriends.

The latest is that this probable Nach Baliye extension has got its title in Shriman Vs Shrimati.

Those who have been approached to be a part of the project are Jay Bhanushali – Mahhi Vij, Ravi Dubey – Sargun Mehta, Arvind Kumar –Neelu Vaghela, Karan Mehra- Nisha Rawal and Bakhtiyaar- Tanaaz.

When we contacted Neelu, she confirmed the same and said, “Yes, I am very much a part of Shriman Vs Shrimati.”
