Dare 2 Dance contestant Kunwar Amarjeet Singh talks about his new show stunt based show Dare to Dance, his experience, challenges and many more in a candid chat with us.
Being a trained dancer, Kunwar Amarjeet Singh who has showcased his dancing skills on various platforms is all set to enhance his dancing skills in a better way through the newly launched show Dare 2 Dance. While he was loved as Rey in Channel V's Dil Dostii Dance he is all set to woo his fans through stunts along with dancing in this Life OK's show which projects the show unique concepts and challenging performances.
Kunwar Amarjeet Singh talks in detail about the show -
You have been a part of dance reality show, so how different was Dare 2 Dance compared to Dance India Dance?
Dare to Dance is completely different from all other shows that I have taken up before. All the shows that I did before like Dance India Dance Season 2, Dil Dostii Dance and Nach Baliye 5 were based on actual dance but this is something new and risky that I have taken up. There are dangerous stunts that no one has seen before on the television. With the opening episode, we are getting crazy response; every person in the industry is talking about the show. It is a great achievement for us as the show is all set to be showcased in west as well. Yes, this will be the first Indian show to get adopted by Western TV.
Dare 2 Dance is a stunt based show, so being a dancer how challenging was it for you to perform stunts?
I would say it is rather interesting to perform dance on such a never tried huge level. There are professionals around and training is given before every stunts. We need to give world class performance doing stunts that too without harness. I am very much excited with this show. I was waiting for what is going to happen next and that time this show landed up in my kitty to which has enhanced my ability and talent.
What levels of stunts did you get to perform and which was the most challenging one for you?
There are many dangerous and risky stunts that I have gone through and all were quite challenging like dancing on the moving stage, then fire all around and even in the water and many more. But the most difficult one I would say is dancing on the ice. It was the toughest thing to execute as getting trained in 4-5 days was not that enough to perform on the ice.
How is it to meet your old folks from DID gang; Alisha Singh, Prince, Sanam Johar and Mayuresh?
It is amazing, it was like a reunion for us, we had a great time even the other contestants are good; it was positivity all around which I think is the necessary thing to run a healthy competition.
Post Dare 2 Dance, are you looking to enhance your skills through more such shows?
Of course, I would love to train myself further through such unique dance shows as I always want to do crazy things in my life.
You have got an exposure much in TV so is Bollywood on your top priority?
Yes, Bollywood is my next core which I am looking forward to. This show is giving me lot of exposure and it will be surely a step forward to get into Bollywood.
Since you Quit Dil Dostii Dance, any plans of returning to the show?
I cannot comment now as if they call me and need my character back in the show, I would surely take it up. I have no hard feelings and would love to be a part of the show again if required.
What are you doing these days?
Since 4-5 years I have been shooting continuously so I thought to sit at home for some time but now I am feeling strange sitting at home. I am a big workaholic so now I am feeling weird sitting idle at home.
Well, Kunwar Amarjeet Singh we wish you good luck for your new stunt based dance show Dare to Dance !

The dare element is so high that it becomes very difficult to be compared - Rithvik Dhanjani
Rithvik Dhanjani who is showcasing his dancing as well as daring skills in Dare 2 Dance, talks about the challenges faced, meeting the host of the show Akshay Kumar and more...
Popular actor Rithvik Dhanjani who is seen in Life OK's dance cum stunt based show Dare 2 Dance, is showcasing his dancing skills in a unique way. Though it is a dance show Rithvik also has to accept a challenge of performing his act by showing his daring behavior. In conversation with us, he talks about the show, challenges he has faced and much more...
Here is Rithvik talking about the same -
How was your experience doing a show like Dare 2 Dance?
It is a fantastic experience being on a show like Dare 2 Dance not only because there was Akshay Kumar - the man himself, on the show but also it gives immense pride and a sense of achievement in a very different way. All of us have danced before, we have done stunts earlier but we have never done stunts along with dancing. This time we were on the dance floor which was absolutely not predictable. For one episode our dance floor was in the air and at the next moment it was in the water. We could not act on one dance floor like we did earlier. Every week we were given a new act, a new dare. To achieve those dares and to overcome those fears I think it was a fabulous experience. I truly enjoyed a lot.
Now that you have done a stunt based dance reality show, would you take a show totally based on stunts and dares?
Stunt based shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi is an amazing platform to perform such dares but not right now. But I would definitely love to do that show one day.
How different is this dance show than Nach Baliye in terms of dancing with partners?
It is very very different and difficult. In Nach Baliye season 6, you are dancing with your partners and dancing on the dance floor which is fixed and stable but here with every act our danced floor changed. Also, in Nach Baliye everyone was not trained dancers but here every contestants are professional dancers. The dare element is so high that it becomes very difficult and you cannot compare it to any other show.
Out of all the contestants who was your biggest competitor?
I don't think there was one competitor as such. The most important competition was with my own self. To achieve and reach a level where I can compete with other contestants who are already professional choreographers was a big task for me. To match up to them and survive in the entire journey was my competition.
How enchanted you were to met Akshay Kumar?
We had so much fun. It was just unbelievable. Akshay himself told us that this was one of the very few shows that he really enjoyed doing it. When our show was on the verge of ending, he told all of us that 'it was really an amazing time being with you all and I had never really thought that the show will turn out to be such an amazing experience for me too'. He actually tried all the dares and stunts and showed us how the dare is supposed to perform. He was such an enthusiastic host I do not think Dare 2 Dance can have a better host than him.
Any of your acts that you were actually scared of doing?
I am really scared of heights. My first act itself was dancing in the air with stunts and it got very difficult for me to perform due to my phobia. I think that was the most difficult one but besides that too all the acts were very difficult.
Your first episode is already on air. What about the reviews that you are getting?
The whole show is a very new concept so some may like it very much; some may not like it at all. But I am so sure, by the time they watch more two-three episodes, there will be no chance that nobody likes Dare 2 Dance. Viewers will be left with no other option but loving the show. I am just waiting for a few episodes to pass and then everyone will be like what an amazing show it is.
Finally, any message to your fans?
Thank you everyone for all the support. Whatever I am today is because of their love.
We wish Rithvik all the good luck for his future endeavors.

I'll be proud if 'Dare 2 Dance' is adapted abroad: Akshay
On Indian television, there are several reality shows that are adapted from international TV formats like "Celebrity Big Brother" and 'Dancing With The Stars". But Bollywood star Akshay Kumar hopes his new show "Dare 2 Dance" turns the tables.
Known to push his limits on the big screen, Akshay has dared to take creative liberties with "Dare 2 Dance". He says it's the first-of-its-kind show in the world, and that he'll be glad if it is ever adapted internationally.
"I'll be very proud if somebody from the international world calls up the channel's team to say 'We want to buy the rights of this show'. I'll honestly be very proud," Akshay said at the show's launch here Wednesday.
Much to his delight, channel officials have already received a query regarding the show.
"On the basis of the promos, we have already got a query asking for the rights to the show from the eastern European market. It's a production house from there," Ajit Thakur, executive vice president and general manager, Life OK, revealed here.
Spread across 16 episodes, the show, to be aired on Life OK starting Saturday, mixes dance with adventurous dares. And Akshay, as the anchor and mentor dares them to groove mid-air, underwater, in the midst of fire and on ice among other rough and tough situations.
It has Indian as well as foreign contestants and has been shot in the picturesque Cape Town in South Africa.
For "Dare 2 Dance", the actor has played roles other than just being the anchor.
"He (Akshay) was called to anchor the show, but he played a stuntman, dancer, producer (well, almost), creative director and he even rapped for the title song," Thakur said, praising the actor's efforts to take the "small idea" of the show to a huge scale.
Akshay said he didn't want to be a boring anchor.
"It was boring to just stand and watch them doing the tasks, so I preferred enjoying with them and performing with them," he said.
Thakur said: "Yes, my team called me and said we will have to increase the insurance amount because we never planned for Akshay to do the stunts. He was underwater, he did the ice-skating and he even went mid-air."
Overall, it was a fun experience for Akshay.
Meanwhile, Thakur is already contemplating over the next destination abroad for season two.

Akshay raps live at 'Dare 2 Dance' launch
Bollywood action star Akshay Kumar Wednesday enlivened the launch event of the forthcoming reality show "Dare 2 Dance" by rapping the title song, which he has also penned himself. His rap was catchy, but Akshay thinks otherwise.
The actor, looking dapper suited booted, entered the stage and started rapping like a professional with the audio of the song playing in the background. He did a little jig with two contestants of the show as well.
"I consider myself a bad singer. These guys (the channel officials) wanted someone with a 'besura awaaz' (tuneless voice), so I had no choice but to do it," he quipped.
Akshay, who is the host and mentor on the show, says he felt a strong connect with "Dare 2 Dance" as it mixes the two worlds of dance and adventure. That's why he went out of his way to ensure that it had an edge over other reality shows.
Ajit Thakur, executive vice president and general manager of channel Life OK, which will air the show starting Saturday, said when he took the idea of doing a dance-based reality show in a studio to Akshay, the actor gave an innovative suggestion: "Don't have a set!"
"He took the show to a different level. We started with something small, and he has made it so big," Thakur said.
Akshay said: "I didn't want the stage to be on the floor. I wanted it to be in mid-air, underwater, on ice...I wanted to see how to make this show different."
The "Dare 2 Dance" team gave a glimpse of what's in store in the show, which was shot in the picturesque landscapes of Cape Town in South Africa.
Two of the contestants even displayed their dancing talent live during the launch.

Rithvik Dhanjani celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi in South Africa!
Actor Rithvik Dhanjani celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi in South Africa as he is shooting for an upcoming dance reality show Dare 2 Dance on Life OK!
Actor Rithvik Dhanjaniwho has been religiously celebrating Ganpati in Mumbai every year unfortunately can not do the same this year. We hear that the actor every year would shuffle between shoots to attend the rituals at home for the festival and be in Mumbai as much as possible during this time.
However, this year Rithvik is in South Africa for a show due to which he is not able to celebrate the festival with his friends and family. We messaged Rithvik and he reverted saying, "I will still be celebrating the festival but just in South Africa this year instead of Mumbai. I am keeping an eco friendly Ganpati for 1.5 days and will do the visarjan in my hotel room. This is the smallest Ganpati I am keeping in my life and its because I am out of India this year. For me Ganesh Chaturthi is a very positive time of the year and I have been following the ritual for years. I will definitely miss the excitement and positivity which takes over Mumbai during these days but nonetheless I am trying to make the best of it here."

Akshay Kumar tries out a unique Ice Bucket Challenge with 11 Dare 2 Dance contestants
Trust Akshay Kumar to push the envelope when it comes to daredevilry. While celebrities have been contend completing the now trending Ice Bucket Challenge by drenching themselves with one bucketful of icy cold water, Akshay Kumar went ahead and got 11 people to simultaneously pour ice water on him. Suffice to say, he took 11 Ice Bucket Challenge at one go.
The action star who is currently in Cape Town shooting for Dare 2 Dance, an upcoming dance-based reality show on Life OK, was nominated for the Ice Bucket Challenge by his friend Riteish Deshmukh who happened to be the first Bollywood celeb to take the dare. Akshay sportingly accepted the challenge and asked one of the contestants present to pour a bucket of ice water on him. And before Akshay could blink, the remaining 10 contestants too joined in with buckets of ice water in their hands all in readiness to empty it on Akshay’s head.
While others would have chickened out, our Khiladi Kumar was up for the challenge. With one hand covering his face and the one folded across his chest, Akshay indicated that he was ready. And in a split second all 11 contestants emptied their buckets on Akshay which left the star shivering with immense cold.
Before completing the challenge, Akshay made sure to nominate his wife Twinkle, business partner Ashvini Yardi and actor Salman Khan for the dare. Now it remains to be seen which of these people will accept the challenge and complete the dare in 24 hours. A shirtless Salman drenching himself with ice cold water would certainly be a sight to behold, we say.
